    Activities:

    • Introduction: Brief history of the Rubik's Cube and its inventor.

    • Understanding the Cube: Explanation of the cube's structure, faces, and colors.

    • Notation: Learning the standard notation (U, D, L, R, F, B) and how to interpret moves.

    • Scrambling and Rescrambling: Practice scrambling and reassembling the cube to get familiar with handling it.

    • Homework: Watch introductory videos on the basic moves and notations.

    Materials Needed:

    • Rubik's Cubes for all participants

    • Printed guides on notation and basic moves

Day 2: Solving the First Layer

    Objective:

    • Learn to solve the first layer (cross and corners).

    Activities:

    • Cross on the First Layer: Step-by-step guide to creating a cross on one face.

    • Solving Corners: Instructions on placing the corner pieces correctly to complete the first layer.

    • Practice Time: Participants practice solving the first layer multiple times.

    • Q&A Session: Address any difficulties faced by participants.

    Materials Needed:

    • Demonstration videos

    • Practice worksheets

Day 3: Solving the Second Layer

    Objective:

    • Learn to solve the second layer by positioning the edge pieces.

    Activities:

    • Edge Piece Placement: Techniques for positioning the edge pieces of the second layer.

    • Algorithms: Introduction to simple algorithms required for second-layer solving.

    • Practice Time: Hands-on practice with instructor support.

    • Homework: Practice the first and second layers at home.

    Materials Needed:

    • Algorithm sheets

    • Step-by-step solution guides

Day 4: Solving the Last Layer (OLL - Orientation of the Last Layer)

    Objective:

    • Learn to orient the last layer (OLL) by solving the top face without worrying about the side pieces.

    Activities:

    • Orientation Techniques: Methods for orienting the top face pieces.

    • OLL Algorithms: Learning and practicing basic OLL algorithms.

    • Practice Time: Guided practice on orienting the last layer.

    Materials Needed:

    • OLL algorithm guides

    • Visual aids for understanding piece orientation

Day 5: Solving the Last Layer (PLL - Permutation of the Last Layer) and Final Solves

    Objective:

    • Learn to permute the last layer (PLL) to complete the cube and conduct final solves.

    Activities:

    • Permutation Techniques: Methods for permuting the last layer pieces into their correct positions.

    • PLL Algorithms: Learning and practicing basic PLL algorithms.

    • Full Solve Practice: Guided practice on solving the entire cube from start to finish.

    • Final Challenge: Timed solve challenge and presentation of certificates.

    Materials Needed:

    • PLL algorithm sheets

    • Timers for final solves

    • Certificates of completion

    Final Outcome

By the end of the 5-day workshop, participants will:

    • Understand the structure and notation of the Rubik's Cube.

    • Be able to solve the Rubik's Cube using a layer-by-layer method.

    • Have knowledge of basic algorithms for OLL and PLL.

    • Gain confidence in solving the cube independently.

    • Receive a certificate of completion.

    Additional Tips

    • Ensure each session includes a mix of theory and hands-on practice.

    • Provide additional resources such as video tutorials and algorithm charts.

    • Encourage participants to practice outside of workshop hours for better retention.

This plan should create a comprehensive and engaging workshop experience for all participants, culminating in their ability to solve the Rubik's Cube.
