    Day 1: Introduction to Zentangle and Basic Patterns

    Objective:

    • Understand the basics of Zentangle and learn the first set of basic patterns.

    Activities:

    • Introduction (Live Session): Overview of Zentangle, its origins, and its benefits for relaxation and creativity.

    • Basic Supplies: Introduction to materials needed, such as pens, paper, and other optional tools.

    • Basic Patterns (Tangles): Learn and practice basic Zentangle patterns like “Crescent Moon,” “Hollibaugh,” and “Static.”

    • Hands-On Exercise: Create a small Zentangle tile (3.5" x 3.5") using the patterns introduced.

    • Sharing Session: Participants share their Zentangle tiles and discuss their experience.

    • Homework: Practice the patterns learned and create another tile.

    Materials Needed:

    • Drawing paper or Zentangle tiles

    • Micron pens or fine-tip black pens

    • Pencils and erasers

    Day 2: Exploring More Complex Patterns

    Objective:

    • Learn and practice more complex Zentangle patterns.

    Activities:

    • Review (Live Session): Quick review of basic patterns learned on Day 1.

    • New Patterns: Introduction to more complex patterns such as “Flux,” “Bales,” and “Printemps.”

    • Hands-On Exercise: Create a new Zentangle tile incorporating both basic and complex patterns.

    • Critique Session: Participants share their tiles and receive feedback on their use of patterns and overall composition.

    • Homework: Practice the new patterns and create another tile.

    • Drawing paper or Zentangle tiles

    • Micron pens or fine-tip black pens

    • Pencils and erasers

    Day 3: Shading and Enhancing Zentangle Art

    Objective:

    • Learn shading techniques to enhance the depth and dimension of Zentangle art.

    Activities:

    • Review (Live Session): Quick review of patterns learned so far.

    • Shading Techniques: Introduction to shading techniques using pencils to add depth and dimension to Zentangle patterns.

    • Hands-On Exercise: Create a Zentangle tile focusing on adding shading to enhance the patterns.

    • Critique Session: Participants share their shaded tiles and discuss the impact of shading on their work.

    • Homework: Practice shading techniques on previously created tiles or new ones.

    • Pencils and blending tools (e.g., tortillons, Q-tips)

    Day 4: Creating a Zentangle Mosaic

    Objective:

    • Combine multiple tiles to create a cohesive Zentangle mosaic.

    Activities:

    • Review (Live Session): Quick review of shading techniques and previously learned patterns.

    • Mosaic Concept: Introduction to creating a Zentangle mosaic by combining multiple tiles into a larger piece.

    • Hands-On Exercise: Participants create several small tiles and arrange them into a mosaic, ensuring cohesive design and flow.

    • Critique Session: Participants share their mosaics and discuss the design process and overall composition.

    • Homework: Complete the Zentangle mosaic and refine the arrangement.

    Day 5: Final Project and Presentation

    Objective:

    • Complete a final Zentangle project and present it to the group.

    Activities:

    • Warm-Up (Live Session): Light warm-up activity to prepare for the final project.

    • Final Zentangle Project: Participants work on a final project, such as a large tile or a series of smaller tiles, incorporating all patterns and techniques learned.

    • Presentation: Participants present their final Zentangle projects to the group via video call, explaining their design choices and creative process.

    • Feedback and Certificates: Constructive feedback session and presentation of certificates of completion.
