Detailed review about the book that got me into reading, (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.)
HPPS was the first book that caught my attention. It was a book full of magic and new creatures that I loved and cherished. I first read it when I was nine years old. Child me was so immersed into reading it that I couldn’t put the book down.
The book tells the story of a boy that didn’t know of his origins. He was a wizard, but his parents died in a ‘car crash’ when he was only one years old. This resulted into him living with his aunt and uncle, and they hated magic and all people that practiced it.
When he turned 11 years old, he was sent a letter, telling him that he was welcome to go study magic in Hogwarts’ school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The book continues to talk about how Harry learns about his past and starts to learn the arts of magic. While reading this book I felt like I was truly with Harry. After I completed it, I wished that the story was real, and that I would get my Hogwarts letter when I turned 11 too.
The book is amazing and for all ages. It was my favourite book, and to this day it still is.
Overall, I rate it a 10/10.
